How we check companies
The same rules for every company: who makes the list, what the labels mean, how pages are ordered and what's outside our checks.
Who makes the list
Companies based in metro Atlanta, with a headquarters, office or warehouse here, that provide professional live production for events like corporate meetings, conventions, galas, concerts, festivals, tours, and church, school and arena events. That means:
- Full-service production companies
- Lighting
- Audio and PA
- Staging and rigging
- Live video and LED walls, with cameras, screens and event projection
- Touring production
- Backline
- Crew companies that supply stagehands (companies, not individual freelancers)
Who doesn't
Plenty of businesses work at events without being production companies. These stay off the list:
- Venues and caterers
- Film, TV and commercial production companies
- Event planners and coordinators
- DJs and entertainers
- Photographers, photo booths, and wedding or marketing videographers
- Tent, table, chair and linen rentals
- Installers of permanent AV that don't also handle event rentals
How a listing comes together
- The starting list comes from public business records and industry sources: trade directories, venue vendor lists and business listings.
- We keep the metro Atlanta companies that do live event production and remove duplicates and anything outside that.
- Each company's own website tells us what it offers, which events it does and how to contact it.
- If we can't confirm a detail, the listing says “Not confirmed yet” rather than guessing.
- Each company's description is written for this site from those facts. Anything a company says about itself is marked as its own claim.
What the labels mean
- Verified (the yellow pass): someone at Event Production Atlanta checked the company directly, not only its website. See every verified company.
- Website confirmed: the services we list are confirmed on the company's own website.
- Not confirmed yet: the detail couldn't be confirmed from public sources. That doesn't mean the company doesn't offer it.
- Based in, Works, Travels: the company's home base and, if it says, which parts of Georgia it covers.
- Google ratings: these are Google's, not ours, with the number of reviews, when we checked them and a link to Google.
- Illustration: the picture on company pages is a general event production scene, not the company's own work.
How area pages work
Each area page is named for the main cities in one part of metro Atlanta and gives every town in it a section of its own, with the companies based there. Neighborhoods inside Atlanta show both names, like “West Midtown, Atlanta.”
How pages are ordered
By Google rating, weighted by the number of reviews, so a perfect score from three reviews doesn't outrank a strong score from a hundred. Companies with no rating come next, website-confirmed first, then A to Z. On area pages, this happens town by town.
No one pays to be listed or to move up.
What's outside our checks
Licenses, insurance and the quality of anyone's work aren't part of our checks, and being listed isn't a recommendation. Before you book, ask for proof of insurance and a line-by-line quote.
